Match Maker, a review.

Match Maker , verses AFF. Match Maker and Adult Friend Finder. Match Maker and the friend finder networks are in close competition just as are several of the other "match maker" (aptly named) types of services. Match Maker, however, surprisingly did not rank first during our analysis either by traffic, membership size, or overall service features. Match Maker also does not have a free membership or a search for members with pictures option. They do have a free trial, but match maker expires this after seven days, whereas AFF allows you to be a free member for an unlimited amount of time. And of course, picture searches are the cornerstone of all good personal ad services. Romance always starts with something physical, and chemistry is difficult to develop if there aren't any good physical elements to draw from. Yes, you can tell when someone does or does not have a pic, but sorting is taxing, and who has the time?

Match Maker is not a bad service, it is in the top three in our books. AFF and Y! are the top two with FF taking an astounding first place. More unique hits per day, more members online at any given time, more new daily users signing up, more matching algorithms, better customer service, and finally it is FREE. Free is our favorite price, by the way, and it goes a long way in our ratings. Not only does it have to have a zero price tag to get our attention, but it has to provide functionality with its free membership. Yes, FF does have a subscription service, but they allow you to turn on or off the auto renew feature if you don't want it. And the only reason to sign up for the paying membership is to gain access to advanced features, if you want them. This is not necessary, just more convenient.

Match Maker also has trouble competing with Adult Friend Finder because of longevity. AFF has been around since 1996, which very few websites (not just matching services) can claim. The founder (Andrew Conru) is also a PHD with a vision about personals technology. He also had a marketing vision that still puts his company far ahead of the competition, a damn good affiliate program. Many websites drive traffic to their sites by allowing third party webmasters a "cut" of the profits. Usually entails paying per signup or per click (occasionally by impression which is just paying for an ad to view, not be clicked, but very rarely) but AFF pays a reoccurring fee for members. Having the best affiliate program means having the most webmasters sending traffic and new members, which greatly attributes to the success of the array of programs that AFF offers.

So what does this have to do with me? you might ask. Well, you want to be a part of the largest and most active community possible because, obviously, it increases your chances of (and the frequency at which) you meet people in the program. That is what you are going there for, right?

So the larger and the more active the program, the better luck you are likely to have. Well, then AFF is your place. Plus they make it fun. From cupid reports to questionnaires that provide matching data between you and other members. There is internal private email, voice intros, more pics than you could ever look at, and so much more we can't begin to describe here.
